Also see about getting your dog fixed because there are tons of animals in shelters and adding to that problem isn’t good.

Even if you are looking for a dog that is a pure breed, always check the local pound. Many pet owners will abandon dogs at pounds when they don’t want them or can’t keep them anymore. Contact your pound and ask them what breeds are currently there. You can save the life of a dog this way.

If you have to leave your dog alone for a whole day, leave a radio or a TV on. Having noise will help your dog feel more secure and comfortable while you are away. Doing this might help your dog get past its anxiety while it awaits your return.
