Is your dog’s behavior leaving you stressed and frustrated? If this is the case, the dog might require additional training. Dedicating the necessary time to training is a great way to develop obedience in your dog. The excellent tips in this article can get you started.

The key to successful crate training with a new canine is making sure they understand that it is their home. At meal times, try to place their food in the crate by leaving the door wide open while they’re eating. This will cause them to associate good things, such as eating, with their crate.

Establish a quiet environment when you go into a room your pet is in. It’s always great to to be playful and upbeat, but a calm environment is ideal when you first enter a room. Calmly enter the house and ignoring your dog until you are ready to interact with him.

Make sure your dog is eating a healthy diet. A poor diet is bad for your dog on several levels. Not only is this bad for their health, but it can influence their behavior towards you and their environment. A simple improvement to their diet will work wonders in how a dog feels, and make it much easier for them to have a clear mind during training.

Your dog needs to get plenty of exercise. Dogs can get bored easily. Bored dogs are difficult to train. Your dog is going to be a lot more attentive when it has received enough exercise. A long walk or a brisk run are great ways to get rid of some of your dog’s excess energy.

Provide your puppy with his own chew toys to alleviate the pain of teething, and try to keep other items out of reach. Take it away, and give him a chew toy. If your puppy is in a lot of pain due to teething, a frozen wet washcloth is ideal for him to chew on.

Dedicating the time needed to train your pet properly will provide you with a lifetime of joy and companionship. At this point you may think training your dog is hopeless, but if you continue your program, you will soon see some impressive results. If you use these tips, your puppy training will be a success.
