Although you love your puppy, there may be times when you become frustrated. Unfortunately, your dog may not value the things you have and it may chew anything that may look like a tasty chew toy. The article below has tips and tips that can help you curb your dog’s behavior.

Try to see things from your dog’s eyes. It’s easy to get mad if your dog is not doing the basic things you teach it. Rather than abandoning the training, consider what the dog might be thinking. Try to see the world through their eyes.

Keep your dog calm when you enter the room. Play time is great, but your dog needs to learn to stay calm as his master enters the room. Don’t acknowledge your dog until you decide. This will establish a controlled atmosphere.

Stay in control as you reward your dog’s good behavior. If your dog is responding to your commands and is not overly excited, give him a treat. If you are overly excited, the dog will become that way too. Set a good example by rewarding them calmly.

Be sure that your canine is consuming a healthy diet. Feeding your dog bad food is very bad for several different reasons. It not only makes your dog unhealthy but can make him misbehave as well. Providing a dog with fresh water and a high protein diet can have an astounding affect on their health and attitude.

Dogs can have a one-track mind and remain focused on one thing until you break the dog out of it. Once your dog knows his attention command, you will be able to coerce him to ignore almost anything.

Consistency is very important when you are crate training your puppy. The first thing to keep in mind is that you must let him use the bathroom as soon as he’s let out. The dog will eventually learn that there are proper times to go outside and use the restroom.

It takes many repetitions before a dog learns a new command. You may need to repeat the command more than 20 or 30 times. Keep teaching it and be patient. The dog will learn in time.

Have a treat prepared for rewarding your dog when they follow a command properly. You want to teach your pooch that good behavior is beneficial. Doing so makes your dog learn what he can and can’t do.

When getting closer to a dog, move slowly and let the dog smell your hand. Extending your hand lets the animal familiarize himself with your unique scent, making him more receptive to a friendly interaction. When the dog knows your scent, he is better able to trust you and follow given commands.

To conclude, it’s vital that you train your dog right. A well-behaved pet is less likely to injure himself and will also help you avoid the cost and frustration of household repairs. Follow the tips provided in this article and you should be able to effectively train your dog to stop unnecessary chewing.
