Combining the best parts of a rocking chair and a hammock, this piece of garden furniture allows ‘Hang-in-out’ outside the house thanks to the additional design features it borrows from camp tents – including the effective screening of all visual interference. Nick McDonald worked as a boat-builder and encountered the hanging nests of the weaver board while travelling in Mexico, which inspired him to design this extraordinary hammock. The Cacoon hanging tent makes for a perfect oasis of calm both indoors and outdoors thanks to its tough mechanical construction from weatherproof components. The shape-giving aluminium ring is rust-proof, while the dome is made from a waterproof, UV and mould resistant fabric blend that is used for manufacturing ships’ sails. The large “Double” model offers a pair of adults and a small child enough space to stretch out, relax and sleep (maximum load 200kg). This wedge-shaped hammock can be folded up into a compact package weighing just six kilograms for transport to your ideal spot. Hang-in-out delivers this unusual, lightweight swing chair with a rope, carabiner hook and carry case.
